The cacao beans are from the Arriba Nacional bean which is known as a Criollo strain. Criollo translates to ‘native’ in Spanish, it’s one of the native and rare strains of cacao.

Typical aromas of our cacao are floral and herbal with hints of tropical fruits with a complex aromatic profile.

Cacao beans are a superfood in themselves, as they contain several antioxidants, minerals and nutrients. The raw cacao beans contain more antioxidants than red wine and three times as many as green tea. These cocoa beans are ideal for direct consumption, for example as an addition to your yoghurt with dried fruits or breakfast cereals.

Lunaversa cacao beans are grown using traditional farming methods that have been passed down through generations of Peruvian farmers.

The cacao beans are sourced directly from small, sustainable farms in the lush jungles of Peru, where the beans are hand-harvested and sun-dried to preserve their natural purity and potency.
